Google Translation:
“Allan Crockford is one of the quiet, often overlooked heroes of Medway beat. Together with Graham Day he founded the legendary Neo-Mod band THE PRISONER, which in part provided the blueprint for the britpop sound. He played the bass guitar for Billy Childish’s MIGHTY CAESARS, the JAMES TAYLOR QUARTET, and later, again together with Graham Day, for the PRIME MOVERS, their descendants the SOLAR FLARES, and the FOURFATHERS. Now, with GALILEO 7 (named after an old “Star Trek” Episode), Crockford goes his own way. His style is more relaxed (without being too leisurely) than that of Graham Day, who is known to occasionally indulge in a more rockist guitar playing style. For G7, Crockford switched to playing guitar, and now presents the third album of the band. The result is typically british Popsike with loads of organ playing and a relaxed sound in the tradition of neo-psychedelic bands such as BEVIS FROND or the paisley underground bands such as THREE O’CLOCK. Another heavy influence is baroque pop in the style of LEFT BANKE, ASSOCIATION or Curt Boettchers fabulous MILLENIUM. All things considered, “False Memory Lane” easily qualifies for the top five of this years neo-sixties albums, right next to the great LEN PRICE 3 album and the plainly sensational debut of TEAMSTERS. “

The Galileo 7

This Kentish quartet have now been kicking out keen psych-pop nuggets since 2010, over the course of many albums and several 45s, but vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Allan Crockford’s illustrious past and parallel present, as bassist with a roll call of the greatest British bands of the past 30+ years – The Prisoners, The James Taylor Quartet, The Prime Movers, The Solarflares, Graham Day & The Forefathers – sets them quite apart. If you dig the XTC back catalogue, 60s psych-pop and garage treats, and such moderne combos as Thee Oh Sees and Tame Impala, then the Galileo 7 could be your new love…
